Job Description

As our Lead Data Engineer you'll be responsible for the team that builds the product pieces for data engineers to monitor the data in their pipelines. You'll drive conversations with peer lead data engineers and architects at worldwide brand names. Together with Soda leadership, you'll define the Soda product strategy for data engineers. You're able to build initial implementations yourself and quickly build up a team.

As Lead Data Engineer, you'll have hands on experience with most of the following technologies & concepts:

• SQL
• Python, Scala
• AWS Athena, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery
• Delta lake
• Spark, Databricks, EMR
• Kafka, Beam
• Kubernetes

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Interact with the data engineering teams at customers
• Distill the common requirements and define the product strategy for data engineers
• Build initial implementations yourself
• Build and lead a team of data and software engineers
• Speak at international conferences

• Experience from multiple data engineering teams
• Hands-on experience from your architectural contributions in at least 3 different data engineering projects
• Experience leading open source projects is a plus
